Whether you're working with sheet metal design, visualization, data management, or fabrication, there are countless applications that can enhance and extend the capabilities of Autodesk software. But how do you know which apps will truly deliver on their promises? This is where the new Autodesk Certified Apps program comes in. Developed to help users identify high-quality, reliable tools, this initiative highlights applications from Autodesk partners that have met strict standards for quality, compatibility, and integration with Autodesk products. The program launched earlier this month, initially focusing on Autodesk Inventor and Vault. However, it's just the start—more products and services from Autodesk are expected to join the Certified Apps family in the future. To better understand how an Autodesk Certified App can support real-world business goals, let’s look at two success stories: Fluke Corporation and Elastec/American Marine. Fluke Corporation, a global leader in electronic test equipment, recently transitioned from PTC Pro/INTRALINK 3.4—a system no longer supported by PTC—to Autodesk Vault Professional. Their main challenge was to migrate without disrupting their engineering workflow. They used an Autodesk Certified App called nxMigrator for Pro/INTRALINK from Nexxtsoft to move one server to a replicated global environment with 45 seats and 60GB of engineering data. This move saved over $200,000 in maintenance costs and allowed Fluke to fully leverage Autodesk Vault for managing Pro/ENGINEER data. "I don't worry about patches affecting our web environment and preventing drafters from checking in their drawings. We now have a data management system that just works," says Barry Schaeffer, CAD Manager at Fluke. Elastec/American Marine, known for its oil spill and environmental equipment, is also an innovator. They recently won the X PRIZE for designing the most effective oil recovery device. To stay competitive and respond quickly to customer requests, they needed a flexible and efficient design process. By using Autodesk Inventor along with an Autodesk Certified App called FAB Professional from Striker Systems, Elastec streamlined their workflow from 3D part models to 2D nested sheet metal files for CNC production. This integration enabled faster prototyping, reduced job times from days to minutes, and improved outsourcing efficiency. In a special podcast for In the Fold, Peter Vinh, Senior Product Manager at Autodesk, explains the benefits of the new program and outlines the steps required for an application to become certified: You can find a current list of Autodesk Certified Apps here. As the program continues to grow, more applications will be added, so be sure to check back regularly for updates. Isomalto-oligosaccharide 500(Organic Cassava) Liquid
