These pipes come in three primary grades: DIN 1629 ST 37.0, ST 44.0, and ST 52.0. Each grade has distinct material compositions and mechanical characteristics, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial uses such as piping systems, pressure vessels, and structural components.

The diameter of DIN 1629 pipes ranges from 10 mm to 324 mm, with wall thicknesses varying between 1 mm and 30 mm. The maximum length can reach up to 14,000 mm, offering flexibility for different project requirements. The composition of these pipes includes carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur. Notably, the ST 52.0 grade contains both silicon and manganese, while other grades do not. The carbon content varies across the gradesâ€”ST 37.0 has 0.17%, ST 44.0 has 0.21%, and ST 52.0 has 0.22%. This variation directly affects the strength and performance of the pipes.

The minimum yield strength of ST 37.0 is 235 MPa, with a tensile strength reaching up to 480 MPa. For ST 44.0, the yield strength is at least 275 MPa, and the tensile strength can go up to 550 MPa. Meanwhile, ST 52.0 offers the highest yield strength at 355 MPa and a tensile strength of up to 650 MPa. As the highest grade, ST 52 is also the most expensive among the three. These pipes can undergo various heat treatments such as hot rolling, cold working, stress relief, annealing, or normalizing to enhance their hardness and overall performance.
