DIN 1629 carbon seamless steel pipes are high-quality, non-alloy steel tubes designed for use in various industrial applications where strength and durability are essential. The standard specifies three primary grades: DIN 1629 ST 37.0, ST 44.0, and ST 52.0, each with unique chemical compositions and mechanical properties that make them suitable for different engineering requirements.

Each grade of DIN 1629 pipe is tailored for specific applications such as piping systems, pressure vessels, and structural components. They are available in a wide range of sizes, with outer diameters ranging from 10 mm to 324 mm, wall thicknesses from 1 mm to 30 mm, and lengths up to 14,000 mm. This versatility makes them ideal for both small-scale and large-scale industrial projects.

The material composition of DIN 1629 pipes includes elements like carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur. While all grades contain these elements, the ST52.0 grade specifically includes silicon and manganese, which contribute to its superior strength. The carbon content varies between grades: ST37.0 has 0.17%, ST44.0 has 0.21%, and ST52.0 has 0.22%. These differences result in varying levels of mechanical performance, including yield and tensile strengths.

The minimum yield strength of ST37.0 is 235 MPa, with a tensile strength of up to 480 MPa. ST44.0 offers a yield strength of at least 275 MPa and a tensile strength of up to 550 MPa, while ST52.0 provides the highest yield strength of 355 MPa and a tensile strength of up to 650 MPa. Due to its superior mechanical properties, ST52.0 is considered the most expensive and high-performance grade within the DIN 1629 standard.

DIN 1629 steel pipes can be heat-treated through processes such as hot rolling, cold working, stress relief, annealing, or normalizing to enhance their mechanical properties and improve overall performance. This flexibility allows manufacturers to tailor the pipes to meet specific application needs, whether for high-pressure environments or structural support systems.
