The authoritative department does not cause any harm to the human body by rational use of food additives for food additives.
In recent years, numerous food safety incidents have been wrongly attributed to food additives. However, according to the latest annual meeting of the China Food Additives Production and Application Association, these incidents were not caused by the proper use of food additives. In fact, when used correctly, food additives are safe and do not pose a threat to human health. This information was shared by reporters attending the event.
For some time now, certain companies have taken advantage of public concerns about food safety by labeling their products as "no preservatives" or "no additives," which has led to confusion among consumers. This misleading marketing has deepened people's fear of preservatives and food additives in general. Reports indicate that no major food safety incident—whether domestic or international—has ever been caused by food additives. For example, the "Sudan Red Incident" earlier this year involved a substance that is not a food additive at all. Instead, it was an illegal substance mixed with other additives, leading to contamination.
Moreover, during previous food inspections, many products failed due to the overuse of additives, rather than their inherent danger. To address this issue, the China Food Additives Association has held three consecutive meetings since 2004, aiming to help companies adopt more scientific and rational methods for using preservatives and antioxidants. As a result, several new products and technologies have been developed that ensure food safety without exceeding recommended usage levels.
Additionally, the association has decided to establish a dedicated team to investigate cases of industrial damage caused by improper use of additives. They have also hired legal advisors to take legal action against unscrupulous companies responsible for such issues.
During the meeting, the Japan Food Additives Association also engaged in extensive discussions with their Chinese counterparts, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in promoting safe and responsible use of food additives.
