Crystal Lake fire stations
Hey there! I just got back from visiting some of the fire stations in Crystal Lake, and I thought I’d share some photos I took. These stations are part of the Crystal Lake Fire Department, and they do an amazing job keeping the community safe. Let me walk you through what I saw.
First up is Station 1, located at 100 W Woodstock St. It’s a pretty impressive setup with all the necessary equipment to handle any emergency. They’ve got Engine 341, which is their main response vehicle, along with Engine 340 as a reserve unit. There's also Tender 371 for water supply, Tower 381 for aerial operations, and Battalion 330 for command support. Squad 359 and Ambulance 352 are on standby for medical emergencies, while Ambulance 355 is another backup option. Oh, and they even have a boat for water rescues!
Next is Station 3, found at 844 Virginia St. This one feels a bit more specialized but still has everything it needs. Their primary vehicle is Engine 343, and they have Ambulance 353 for medical calls. They also have a Brush Truck 361 for wildfires or vegetation-related incidents. Plus, they’re part of MABAS 5, which means they have access to special equipment when needed.
Finally, there’s Station 4 at 8705 Bard Rd. This station seems to focus a bit more on water-related emergencies. They’ve got Engine 344 and Ambulance 354, but what really caught my eye was Dive 391—they’re fully equipped for underwater rescues. That’s pretty cool!
Each station has its own unique vibe, but they all work together seamlessly to ensure the safety of everyone in Crystal Lake.
