China Exports Large Hydrogenation Reactors for the First Time
Two large forge-welded hydrogenation reactors were loaded onto a ship in Dalian on the 20th and are now en route to India's petroleum sector. These two units, developed by China Yizhong Group and China Technology Development Corporation, mark the first time such advanced equipment has been exported from China. This milestone highlights the country's growing capability in manufacturing high-end industrial equipment.
According to Cai Lianzhong, deputy general manager of China Yizhong Group, each reactor weighs over 500 tons, with an average price of nearly 200,000 yuan per ton. The entire production process—from design to manufacturing—meets international standards, setting a benchmark for future heavy equipment exports. Currently, China holds 22 international contracts for large-scale reactors, with a total contract value exceeding 3 billion RMB.
Hydrogenation reactors play a crucial role in oil refining and deep processing of heavy crude oil, making them essential in the petrochemical industry. Just 19 years ago, the technology was dominated by a handful of developed nations. However, through independent research and development, China has overcome significant challenges, including large-scale forging and complex welding techniques. As a result, the country has successfully localized hydrogenation reactor production, achieving international advanced standards. Today, it holds a 90% share of the domestic market, signaling a major shift in global energy equipment manufacturing.
