Chicago working fire, 7-5-14

This message is from Eric Haak:

On Saturday, I responded to a working fire on the 6100 block of South Washtenaw Avenue. I arrived less than ten minutes after the call, and by that time, the fire was already well under control. I took a close-up photo of the spare tower ladder that Truck 39 was using. Over the weekend, they were running low on spare tower ladders, and both Truck 34 and Truck 54 ended up acting as engine companies at different points. As you can see, the wear and tear on these older E-One trucks is pretty obvious, but they still seem to be in service more often than the newer units. It's also worth mentioning that Squad 5 was operating with the old air mask rig—Shop # G-487. The engines involved were 88 and 101, along with Truck 41 and Tower Ladder 39.
