Split electromagnetic flowmeter installation precautions

The split electromagnetic flowmeter is mainly used to measure the volumetric flow in conductive liquids and slurries in closed conduits. Including acid, alkali, salt and other corrosive liquids. The product is widely used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, textile, food, pharmaceutical, papermaking and other industries as well as environmental protection, municipal management, water conservancy construction and other fields.
Installation notes:
The sensor of the split electromagnetic flowmeter should be installed vertically and the fluid flows from bottom to top to meet the solid and liquid conditions. The reason is that if the medium contains solids (silt, pebble particles, etc.), precipitation is likely to occur. In addition, fish and weeds in the pipeline cause the fish to swim in the pipeline, causing the output of the flowmeter to oscillate back and forth; the weaving back and forth of the weeds hung near the electrodes will also cause the output of the flowmeter to be unstable. A metal strainer is placed at the upstream entrance of the flowmeter to block fish and weeds from entering the measuring tube.
Split-type electromagnetic flowmeters to prevent negative pressure from setting up properly will cause negative pressure in the sensor. When the flowmeter is closed at the same time, if the temperature of the fluid is higher than the air temperature, it will contract after cooling, so that the pressure in the pipe may be negative pressure. Negative pressure causes the lining to peel off from the metal conduit, causing the electrode to leak.
A negative pressure prevention valve is added near the split electromagnetic flowmeter, and the valve is opened to connect the atmospheric pressure so as to prevent negative pressure in the sensor. When a vertical pipeline is connected downstream of the split electromagnetic flowmeter, if a flow sensor upstream valve is used to close or regulate the flow, a negative pressure will be formed in the sensor measurement tube. In order to prevent negative pressure, it is necessary to add back pressure or use downstream valves to regulate and close the flow.
Split-type electromagnetic flowmeters have appropriate maintenance space. Large-diameter flowmeters are often installed in meter wells. For the convenience of pipeline installation, wiring, inspection, and maintenance, proper space needs to be reserved. For the convenience of observation, wiring and maintenance, the instrument should be installed at a certain height from the ground in order to facilitate cleaning and installation.
