The inner and outer layers are covered with metal mesh or hard plastic nets, while the middle layer consists of folded filter material. A sub-micron ultra-thin fiber layer is attached to the general filter material, creating very tight gaps (0.12–0.6 μm). This design significantly increases the effective filtration area and enhances the overall performance of the filter. (2) The cabinet serves as the housing of the dust collector, including the gas tank and ash hopper. The gas tank provides the necessary space for cleaning, ensuring even airflow distribution, while the ash hopper collects the filtered material. (3) The ash removal mechanism includes components such as the blowpipe, pulse valve, and air bags. When dust accumulates on the filter surface, the system initiates the cleaning process. A cartridge filter is a type of dust collection system that uses filter cartridges as the primary filtering element. It is an advanced solution for air purification and industrial powder (smoke) dust removal, built upon the principles of pulse bag filters. With high air volume (up to 99.5% efficiency), low pressure requirements (0.2–0.6 MPa), and low resistance loss (800–1000 Pa), it offers excellent performance and user satisfaction. The cartridge filter features advanced technology, a compact design, low emissions, small footprint, and cost-effective operation and investment.
The cartridge filter consists of several key components: the cabinet, filter cartridges, and the injection system. When dusty air enters the collector, the sudden expansion and air distribution plate allow larger particles to settle in the ash hopper due to gravity and inertia. Smaller, finer particles are then captured in the filtration chamber through a combination of Brownian diffusion and sieve filtration. As dust accumulates on the surface of the filter material, the resistance increases. Once a set threshold is reached, the system stops the airflow, opens the electromagnetic pulse valve, and uses compressed air to clean the filter cartridge by causing it to vibrate. This action dislodges the dust, which then falls into the ash hopper and is discharged through the discharge valve.
This type of cartridge filter is ideal for applications such as blast furnace blower inlet dust removal, oxygen generator systems, air compressor intake, control room gas purification, master control room air intake, clean workshops, public building air conditioning intake, and low-concentration flue gas cleaning. With continuous advancements in materials and dust removal technologies, the application scope of cartridge filters continues to expand. Today, they are widely used in industries like construction materials, metallurgy, power generation, food processing, and chemicals. They are gradually replacing traditional bag filters and electrostatic precipitators (ESPs).
