Preparation of mineral samples

1. Preparation of samples for beneficiation test
The original ore sample collected from the mine must be inspected and mixed sampled before it can be processed and prepared into a representative ore sample required for the ore dressing test.
(1) Mineral sample inspection
After receiving the mineral sample, the experimental research unit will check the sample number, ore type and grade according to the sampling instructions, and check each sample, and select the rock and mineral identification supplementary sample from the sample.
After checking the sample number, ore type and grade, etc., a part of the sample was taken for chemical analysis verification.
If the chemical analysis results differ greatly from the sampling instructions, the cause should be found. Common reasons are:
1. The method of improper selection of the shrinking method or the operation of the shrinking operation is not strict. In this case, it is necessary to remix, shrink, and sample for chemical analysis verification.
2. The experimental research unit has different errors from the chemical analysis methods used by the geological department or the mine. This error is generally a systematic difference. In this case, the analytical method should be checked or the chemical analysis and arbitration should be performed.
3. The basis on which the sampling design is based is not reliable enough to produce an error.
4. In the sampling construction, errors are caused due to some unsatisfactory conditions or improper methods.
For the error caused by the latter two reasons, if the difference is large, if the local adjustment is made and cannot be corrected, the sampling unit should be consulted to replenish or re-take the representative mineral sample.
(2) Mixing samples
1, mixed sample calculation
According to the sampling specification and the requirements of the ore dressing test, the premixed ore sample position is calculated according to the type of the sample, the grade of the sample and the verification grade of the surrounding rock. If the result meets the requirements of the selected grade, the sample can be mixed with the weight of the sampling specification. Otherwise, the weight ratio should be adjusted according to the characteristics of each type and grade of ore and surrounding rock until it meets the requirements of the selected grade.
Its calculation method is as follows:
Average grade for premixed ore samples:

Each grade is the result of chemical analysis after verification.

    After the above calculation, the total weight of the test ore sample is multiplied by the weight ratio of each type of ore, and the weight of each type of ore should be mixed. Then, the weight of each type of mixed sample is multiplied by the weight ratio of each grade ore in the ore, and the weight of the mixed ore sample of each type of ore is obtained. 2, mixed sample
An iron ore metamorphic sedimentary deposits, mainly iron ore mineral magnetite ore roof rock garnet, biotite and quartz schist; Surrounding floor diopside marble, a slight silicide. As a single magnetite deposit, the mine size is small and medium.
The sampling work was carried out by a combination of mine, geological department and experimental research. A total of six core samples were collected. The average grade of ore geological iron was 32.26%. The comprehensive surrounding rock samples including the top, bottom and rock were also used. Is 4.1%.
According to the specific conditions of the mining area, the mining design determines that the underground rock mining rate is 10%.
Because the ore type is single, it is only mixed into a comprehensive original ore sample according to the grade. However, considering the fluctuation of the production grade in production and the reliable mineral processing technology, the mixed sample position is required to be slightly lower than the average yield of about 1%.
The average iron grade of the mined ore is:

Where γ 1 and γ 2 are respectively the weight ratio of the produced ore and surrounding rock, in decimals;
a 1 , a 2 - respectively the ore and surrounding rock iron grade, %.
Then a mining = 32.26 × 0.9 + 4.1 × 0.1 = 29.44%
According to the weight of the sample of the mining area, the weight percentage and iron grade are calculated as shown in the table below.
