House fire in Buffalo Grove, 4-6-18
Early on Friday morning, April 6th, 2018, around 6:30 AM, emergency responders from both the Buffalo Grove Police Department and Fire Department were dispatched to 643 Hickory Drive following reports of a house fire. Upon arrival, officers noted light smoke and signs of fire in a second-floor rear bedroom. All residents were confirmed to be safely outside.
The first fire unit on the scene was Arlington Heights Engine 4, which happened to be en route back from a medical call when they received the dispatch. Shortly after, Buffalo Grove Chief 400 arrived and corroborated the initial assessment provided by the police. An immediate interior firefighting operation was launched, and the incident was escalated to a Code 4 working fire status. Within ten minutes, the flames were successfully extinguished.
The extensive response included multiple units from Buffalo Grove Fire Department—Engine 400, 408, Tower 25, Engine 26, Quint 27, Ambulance 25, Squad 26, and Battalion 4—as well as support from neighboring departments such as Palatine Engine 82, Prospect Heights Engine 9, a Barrington ambulance, and additional resources from Long Grove including Battalion 55.
