Chicago working fire 11-19-14
This message comes from Josh Boyajian:
So here's what happened yesterday. We were supposed to check out the new buggy assigned to Battalion 9. As we passed Engine 110, they got a call at 6048 North Francisco. Engine 89 arrived and initially didn’t see much action upon arrival. But once the teams went inside, they discovered heavy smoke billowing through the stairwell from an apartment on the first floor. It turned out to be a dryer fire. Engine 89 quickly deployed a hose line, while Truck 56 headed to the roof. They managed to extinguish the flames pretty fast.
Attached are some photos, including one of the shiny new buggy we were planning to see. The first image shows smoke billowing from the apartment building. You can really see the intensity of the situation in that picture. The second photo captures firefighters raising a ground ladder, which is always a critical step in operations like this. There’s also a shot of Engine 89, looking ready and prepared as always. Another great image features Truck 47, showcasing its equipment and readiness. And of course, no post about Chicago Fire Department would be complete without mentioning the iconic Diamond Diamonds logo painted on one of their trucks. Finally, there’s a photo of Battalion 9, showing the team in action and ready to tackle whatever comes their way.
It’s always fascinating to see how quickly these professionals handle emergencies, ensuring everyone stays safe. These images really capture the essence of their dedication and skill.
