Chicago Still & Box Alarm, 12-4-14
The attached photos capture the intense scene of a still and box alarm fire that broke out on 21st Place. By the time we arrived, it was already well underway—starting in the garage and quickly spreading to the adjacent apartment. The firefighters called for additional support almost immediately due to the rapid progression of the flames.
I was only about five minutes away when I got there, but the intensity was already high. The first responders were doing their best to control the situation, and you can see from the images just how challenging it was. The fire had already caused significant damage to the garage and was threatening the structure of the apartment above it.
