There may be capacitance between the high voltage winding and the low voltage winding of the power distribution transformer, and between the low voltage winding and the iron core, and between the iron core and the tank wall. The charged transformer windings will cause the core to generate a certain floating potential due to the coupling effect of the capacitors. Because the distance between the metal parts of the transformer and the wall of the tank is different, the floating potential is also different, when reaching a certain potential When it is bad, it will discharge to the ground and cause direct damage to the core insulation. Therefore, the transformer core must be reliably grounded.

First, why is the transformer core grounded and only one point is grounded?

Because once there are two or more groundings, a short circuit is formed between two or more points, which is equivalent to shorting the iron core column through the grounding plate, and forming an induction circulation in the short circuiting circuit, so that the core part is overheated and burned. Insulation between the bad plates may also cause discharge of the tank wall until the insulation breaks down and burns the transformer.

Second, cause the transformer core grounding reasons:

1. The silicon plate is short-circuited when the grounding plate is not manufactured properly, or the iron piece and the iron core are not insulated. There are tools or electric conductors left in the iron core or in the oil tank.

2, due to the external and accessories cause multi-point grounding, generally:

(1) When overhauling or transformer assembly, due to carelessness or overhaul of individual accessories, such as extra long, skewed, wipe edges, etc., causing the iron core to touch the shell, touch the clip, the iron core plate touches the iron core column, and the silicon steel plate tilts out to touch the clamping plate. , The core under the clip foot and silicon steel touch, the thermometer too long touch the core and so on.

(2) The nail bolt is too long and the silicon steel plate or box is short and overlapped.

(3) The foreign material or water in the tank causes a partial short circuit in the silicon steel sheet.

(4) The insulation of the core is damp or damaged, silt and moisture are deposited on the bottom of the box, and dampening of the wood blocks causes the insulation to drop, forming a resistance ground.

(5) The metal powder or screw is dropped into the tank and adsorbed between the iron core and the tank to form a multi-point ground.

Third, the transformer core grounding treatment:

The grounding of the transformer core is usually checked with a megohmmeter to check the insulation between the steel clamp and the core. If the insulation resistance of the feedthrough screw is measured to be zero, a grounding point can be judged and then gradually checked from top to bottom. It also uses a multimeter to measure power, but it requires safety measures and is operated by experienced professionals.

Transformer assembly and maintenance are the main reasons for the multi-point grounding of the iron core. Therefore, when overhauling, we must stack the silicon steel sheet. When cutting, we must not crush the insulation between the laminations to keep the laminations clean. The metal powder can't be left on the disc. The protruding silicon steel sheet should be leveled with a wooden hammer. The magnetic parts should be painted. Some pads and insulating washers must be replaced when they are crushed. When loose, they should be fastened.

The grounding plate and the iron core must be firmly connected and must not touch other silicon steel plates. If you find that there is contact with the iron core, install an insulation plate and fix it. When the dirt and sludge at the bottom of the fuel tank are completed and the transformer insulation is dried, check and observe the transformer after power-on. After confirming that the sound is normal, all parts can be connected to the fuel tank without any outstanding phenomenon.
