State Grid released the first tender for smart meters in 2011

The State Grid released the first tender for smart meters in 2011, which involved a total of 12.6 million electricity meters, including 10.53 million smart meters. According to the product, there are 9.27 million single-phase smart watches, 1.1 million three-phase smart watches, 15.9 million 0.5S smart watches, and 8018 three-phase smart watches of 0.2S. In addition, 1.93 million single-phase ordinary electric energy meters.

In 2010, a total of 45.36 million smart meter tenders were completed, which was approximately 30% more than the 35 million planned at the beginning of the year. In 2011, the State Grid plans to invite 50 million tenders, a year-on-year increase of only 15%. The tender for the first time in 2011, the amount of the tender accounted for 21% of the plan, it is difficult to determine whether the annual total tender size exceeds the target of the beginning of the year.

In 2010, a total of four tenders were conducted, and there were fluctuations in the number of tenders. Compared with 13.6 million in the first tender in 2010, this year's reduction was 23%. From the point of view of products, the number of single-phase smart meters of Class 2 decreased more, and the products of Class 1, 0.5S, and 0.2S with high technical price and high unit price all increased.

Judging from the results of the tenders in 2010, the industry is fiercely competitive, and it is difficult for enterprises with obvious advantages in the short term. Under the premise of lower barriers to entry, they will focus on segmenting high-end products or effectively improve their overall strength. The top three companies are not listed, accounting for about 22% of the total, constituting the first echelon of the market. The listed companies Hao Ning Da and Ke Lu Electronics ranked fifth and seventh respectively, and Ke Lu performed excellently on high-margin, high-precision 0.5S-class products with differentiated routes.

The bidding model was changed. In 2011, the profitability was restored and the income scale was expanded. At the beginning of 2010, the bidding of the State Grid Corporation of China Co., Ltd. adopted the lowest bid, and the overall gross profit rate of the companies in the industry declined significantly. Taking Hao Ningda as an example, the gross profit margin in the three quarters was 33.95%, down 6.55% from 40.50% in 2009. Since the State Grid adjusted the tender mode six months later, it has adopted the “second best price bid” and it is expected that the company’s gross profit margin will gradually recover in the first quarter of 2011. Under the premise that the planned total tender volume will increase by 15%, a sharp rise in profitability will be beneficial to the company's outstanding performance.
