This message comes from Danny Nelms: After doing a bit of research online, I found something interesting to share. The two Spartan/3D fire engines operated by the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Department were sold at different times and both ended up in service in Kentucky, just 15 miles apart. They were assigned to Manchester, KY and Lockards Creek, KY, both located in Clay County, Kentucky. Later on, both rigs were sold again—this time to fire departments in Oklahoma, within 10 miles of each other. It's not uncommon for them to respond to calls together. The Lockards Creek engine was eventually transferred to Hitchita, OK in 2018, while the Manchester unit made its way to Paradise Point, OK this year. If you have any stories about these or similar fire apparatus, feel free to share them below!
