Galvanized steel pipe connection method

When it comes to connecting galvanized steel pipes, there are several methods available, including threading, welding, and roll groove connections. Each method has its own set of challenges and solutions that need to be addressed carefully. For roll groove connections, one common issue is cracking in the rolled groove welds. To address this, flatten the inner wall's welding rib in the pressure groove area of the nozzle to reduce resistance during the rolling process. Ensure the axis of the steel pipe aligns perfectly with the rolling groove equipment and maintain level positioning. Control the grooving speed carefully, ensuring it doesn't exceed the recommended time, and apply force steadily and gradually. Another concern is fractures in the rolled grooves of the steel pipe. In addition to the steps mentioned above, check the width and model compatibility of the support and pressure rollers on the rolling equipment. A mismatch between these rollers could lead to biting issues. Use a vernier caliper to verify that the groove dimensions on the steel pipe conform to specifications. The final groove should have a smooth surface from the pipe end to the groove section, be concentric with the pipe wall, and have dimensions that meet the required standards. In terms of welded connections, one frequent problem is that the galvanized steel pipe ends aren’t perfectly aligned, leading to an uneven joint after welding. This can happen due to the pipe being slightly bent or misaligned. Cutting a short section off the pipe head before welding can help rectify this issue. Another challenge is when the welded joint results in uneven thickness due to the pipe being oval-shaped. Again, cutting and reprocessing the pipe ends can solve this problem. Sometimes, blisters form at the nozzle after welding, often due to technical issues during the welding process. Zinc tumors at the nozzle can also complicate welding and create porosity. For severe cases, simple removal of the zinc tumors should be performed. For threaded connections, random buckling of the threads is a common issue. When the pipe hoop and threads fail to make full contact, they become loose. Remove the buckled portion and re-thread the pipe for proper installation. Additionally, if the steel pipe threads and the pipe hoop threads don’t match, replace the pipe hoop or adjust the threading equipment to ensure proper alignment. Missing print after threading could indicate that the steel pipe’s wall thickness may not meet the necessary standards for threading. Overall, careful attention to detail and adherence to proper techniques are crucial to avoid complications in galvanized steel pipe connections. Whether through threading, welding, or roll grooving, each method requires specific precautions and adjustments to ensure a secure and reliable connection.
