Excerpts from the ChicagoTribune.com: Three individuals were hospitalized following a fire that broke out in a single apartment within a four-plus-one style building located on the 6900 block of North Sheridan Road. One of the victims was reported to be in serious condition, while the other two were in fair-to-serious condition. The injured were taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston and Swedish Covenant Hospital. Two people were transported to St. Francis, with one in serious-to-critical condition and another in fair-to-serious condition. A third person was admitted to Swedish Covenant Hospital in fair-to-serious condition. The fire was contained to one apartment on the fourth floor of the building, and no further details about its cause have been released at this time.
