Autodesk Netfabb Joins Fusion 360 Family, Better Uniting Additive Manufacturing and Design

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news! This year, we’re expanding the capabilities of our Netfabb community by integrating the powerful Netfabb tools into the Autodesk Fusion 360 suite of solutions. Existing Netfabb subscribers will continue to enjoy access to their familiar Netfabb products while gaining access to the extensive features of Fusion 360. These include advanced modeling, manufacturing, documentation, and much more. For many Netfabb users, this means receiving Fusion 360’s Additive Build Extension and the upcoming Additive Simulation Extension—both at no extra cost. Additionally, Netfabb users will now have access to Fusion 360 Team and HSMWorks. Building on the unified Fusion 360 with PowerMill offerings we announced last August, this move ensures that Netfabb subscribers get even more functionality without any increase in their current subscription costs. Every Netfabb user will receive Fusion 360 included with their subscription. Netfabb Premium and Ultimate subscribers will also gain access to the Additive Build Extension, enabling them to set up jobs for metal additive manufacturing. Ultimate subscribers will additionally receive the forthcoming Additive Simulation Extension once it becomes commercially available. This shift reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that our customers' design and manufacturing processes remain future-ready. Our aim is to empower Netfabb users with new, more efficient workflows and provide them with a crucial competitive edge. The latest extensions to Fusion 360 bring fresh, robust capabilities for design and manufacturing professionals. For instance, we introduced metal powder bed fusion functionality through the Additive Build Extension, which launched in October. This extension also supports intelligent orientation and automatic generation of support structures. We’re equally excited to soon release the Additive Simulation Extension, which will allow users to simulate print studies to preemptively identify potential issues before starting a print job. Fostering collaboration among designers, engineers, and fabricators has always been a core vision for Autodesk. We continuously refine connected workflows, automate processes, and enhance connectivity with supply chains. Fusion 360 stands as a unified design and manufacturing platform using a single data model to eliminate file conversion delays, preserve detail across platforms, and reduce the need for rework. Our goal is to keep refining these workflows, making it easier for users to realize their creative visions. Fusion 360 simplifies experimenting with innovative tools like our Generative Design Extension. Take a look at this skateboard truck manufactured using DMLS titanium, showcasing the cutting-edge capabilities of additive manufacturing. Our dedication to additive manufacturing stems from its transformative impact on the industry, offering benefits such as faster time-to-market, lightweight products, and reduced waste. As stated by Sualp Ozel, Senior Product Manager for additive technologies in Fusion 360, “At Autodesk, we’re committed to eliminating every obstacle that slows down the design and manufacturing processes, creating a seamless workflow within a single toolset. This change provides Autodesk users with the necessary tools to develop and produce groundbreaking products.” To explore more about Netfabb, visit our offerings page.
