We are among the first in our industry to offer a consumption-based model, which complements our traditional subscriptions and benefits businesses of all sizes. For existing customers, Flex helps ensure they get the most value from Autodesk products. It also gives them the chance to explore other tools in our portfolio that they may not have used before. Likewise, new customers can now try our products at a lower cost—without the need for a long-term subscription.

Meeting Customers Where They Are

“It’s hard to predict what a design team will need at the start of the year. Projects change, and so do needs. That’s why flexibility is so important—it lets us respond without locking into a big budget upfront.” - Donogh McGrath, Director of Information Security & Vendor Management

Our goal is to help customers achieve their goals by providing solutions that fit their unique workflows. We’ve long believed in the potential of a flexible, pay-as-you-go model, especially after seeing success with our enterprise offerings. The shift to a named user model gave us deeper insights into how users engage with our products, and it became clear that many people don’t need daily access to subscriptions. That’s where Flex comes in. It offers a simple, scalable option that works alongside or independently of our standard subscriptions. It also makes it easier for new customers to get started, as many of our products are now available for occasional or introductory use without requiring a full subscription.

Benefits of Flex and How It Works

Flex is designed to be intuitive and easy to manage. Users can control their access at an individual level or set up defaults for a more hands-off experience. Just like with single-user subscriptions, Flex provides detailed insights into user activity and product usage. With Flex, customers can:
  1. Try new products without long-term commitments
  2. Save costs by paying only for what they use
  3. Boost productivity through faster access and less administrative overhead

Steps for using Flex.

What’s Next?

At Autodesk, we’re always looking for ways to support our customers—whether they're small startups or large enterprises. We believe Flex will be a valuable addition to our product lineup. We’re eager to see how both new and existing users will leverage Flex to innovate and create better outcomes.
