3-Alarm fire in Maywood, 8-17-16

Hey everyone, I wanted to share some photos I took this morning of a house fire on 304 S 5th Ave in Maywood. When crews first arrived, there was already heavy fire raging in the back of this big wooden house. By the time I got there, firefighters were really struggling to chase the flames through the hidden spaces on the second floor and up in the attic. It’s always challenging when fire hides in those hard-to-reach areas.
I’ve included a few pictures below that capture different moments from the scene. You can see the thick smoke billowing out, the intense efforts by the firefighters as they worked to control the blaze, and even some images of them during overhaul. There’s also a shot of one of the E-One Bronto Skylifts that was brought in to help battle the fire.
Unfortunately, I don’t have all the details about how it started or if anyone was hurt, but I’ll keep an eye out for updates. For now, I’ll be uploading more photos to my website soon.
