2-Alarm fire in New Lenox, 10-17-24

A fire broke out just before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Tri-Star Cabinet & Top Co., Inc., located at 1000 South Cedar Road in New Lenox. The New Lenox Fire Protection District (NLFPD) responded quickly and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. At the time, approximately 60 to 70 employees were inside, but all were safely evacuated without any injuries reported. Firefighters worked for nearly four hours to bring the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and authorities have not yet released details about what sparked the incident. Local residents and business owners expressed relief that no one was hurt and praised the quick response from emergency services. The company, which specializes in cabinetry and furniture manufacturing, has not yet issued an official statement regarding the impact of the fire on its operations.
