However, if dirt falls into the raceways or dirty lubricating oil is used, it will not only hinder the normal operation of the balls but also cause a sharp increase in wear.  Usually, sealing rings are installed at both ends of the nut. Since the sealing rings are in direct contact with the screw, the dust-proof effect is good, but it also increases the frictional resistance torque of the ball screw nut assembly. To avoid this frictional resistance torque, a non-contact labyrinth seal made of relatively hard plastic can be used. Its inner hole is made into a shape opposite to the thread raceway of the ball screw, with a certain gap left.   1.
