Norwegian fertilizer company's net income increased by 130.8%

Recently, Norway Yarra announced its operating performance report for the full year last year. Net income increased by 130.8% year-on-year, from 3.77 billion Norwegian krone to 8.73 billion Norwegian kronor (RMB 10.188 billion). EBIT increased by 175.9% year-on-year to US$ 15.32 billion, which is the best record in 2008.

Last year, the company's chemical fertilizer delivery increased by 3%, in addition to ammonium nitrate fertilizer, the remaining fertilizer sales have reached the best level. Last year, due to the maintenance of Ambes ammonium nitrate plant in France, the sales volume decreased by 12% year-on-year. The plant has an annual ammonium nitrate production capacity of 500,000 tons and is scheduled to restart production in March this year. In terms of sub-products, sales of Yara's ternary compound fertilizers increased by 7% and urea deliveries increased by 8%.

Due to the increase in prices of urea, synthetic ammonia, and phosphate and compound fertilizers, Yara's investments in Qafco, UK-based GrowHow, and Yarra Tringe all achieved good returns. Yara said that if the current nitrogen fertilizer prices continue to be strong, this year's nitrogen fertilizer utilization rate will remain at 100%, and the Ambes ammonium nitrate plant in France will resume full production. In addition, the Sluiskil urea plant expansion project in the Netherlands will be put into production at the same time as Qatar's Qafco five-phase ammonia project in June. After the U.S. Sluiskil urea project was expanded, the daily production of urea increased to 1,100 tons, and Qafco's five projects consisted of an annual output of 1.6 million tons of synthetic ammonia and 1.3 million tons of urea.
